After a couple of small kinks and some minor massaging, the Austin Itinerary has been set. Both Monday and Tuesday are completely full, top to bottom, start to finish with site visits, meetings, and lunches. I am getting really excited, and I can’t wait to see and hear what they will bring.
Here is the Austin plan of attack:
Monday, May 17
08:30 AM - 12:00 PM City of Austin - Austin City Hall
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM Lunch with City of Austin Officials
01:30 PM – 3:50 PM Site Visit # 1 & 2 – Mr. Terry Mitchell of MOMARK Development will walk us through The Austonian, Chestnut Commons, and possibly Edgewick.
Tuesday, May 18
09:00 AM - 10:30 AM Site Visit # 3 – Ms. Jan Gunter, Communications Manager, or one of her fine colleagues will give us a tour of the Ronald McDonald House - a LEED Platinum building. I have to mention this person; Ms. Jane Rose was extremely personable and quite helpful in changing our scheduled appointment. Thank You Jane!
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM Site Visit # 4 – Ms. Jessica Reynolds, Mueller Marketing Director, will show us around the Mueller Airport Redevelopment – by Catellus.
12:00 PM - 02:00 PM Lunch with Judy Fort (TX Dept. of Ag.) 1700 Congress
02:15 PM - 03:00 PM Site Visit # 5 – Mr. John Rosato, Principal of Southwest Strategies Group was kind of enough to agree to meet us at Seaholm Power to discuss this adaptive reuse project.
03:30 PM - 04:45 PM Site Visit # 6 – Before heading south, we will head west to explore the Hill Country Galleria.
After all this, we will then have to drive to San Antonio. I’m not saying that San Antonio is so far away, but we will have to start a similar process all over again on Wednesday. It promises to be a very busy trip…but well worth the effort. I will continue to post more about each meeting and site visit as they happen.
